You can secure your calendar by requiring that a UserID and Password be entered for certain types of access, such as adding new entries, editing entries, or even viewing your calendar.

Settings:Anyone can change Settings
UserID/Password required to change settings
   User ID: Password:
Editing:Anyone can Edit/Delete entries
UserID/Password required to Edit/Delete entries
  User ID: Password:
Adding:Anyone can Add entries
UserID/Password required to Add entries
   User ID: Password:
Viewing:Anyone can View this calendar
UserID/Password required to View calendar
  User ID: Password:

Comments:
If someone logs in at a high security level, they are also given access at all lower security levels. (i.e. If a person logs in with the Edit UserID and Password, then they will get Edit access, as well as the lower access levels: Add and View)

If you want a single UserID and Password for all types of editing (add, edit, and delete), then check both: Adding and Editing, and give both the same User ID and Password

*** If you log in using your iCal Registration Name and Registration Number, you will get 'Super-User' privileges, and will get Settings-level access to any calendar on your machine (useful if you forget your calendar's password)***

Note: A Dash: - indicates that that security setting is not set.
An X indicates that that security setting is set, and a UserID and Password have been entered for it.
